ABOUT THE FESTIVAL – Welcome to Sun & Sand – The Mississippi Film & Music Festival, Celebrating Mississippi Bicentennial May 26th- June 4th, 2017. Sun & Sand will draw actors, musicians, producers, directors and other entertainment-industry professionals to the sugar-white shores of Mississippi’s Gulf Coast. 10 Days of Creativity. This ten-day event will connect film and music enthusiasts with respected, rising and aspiring players in all facets of the filmmaking and music industry. All set in an emerging destination for filmmaking: Mississippi. This year the festival will feature Mississippi and it’s film history. Films & Filmmaking Sun & Sand will screen films shot in Mississippi and films that have Mississippians that are actors, directors, writers and or producers. There will be panel discussions and educational seminars hosted by industry professionals. Music Performances planned to further fuel the creative energy; we’re hosting multiple music performances at several exciting venues. Catch performances by rising local talent and hot headliners. MISSION & OBJECTIVE: The Sun & Sand Festival provides a creative environment for producers, directors, writers, and industry professionals to showcase their work and at the same time network with filmmakers on future projects. The festival will host International films and filmmakers, making Sun & Sand a truly International festival. The festival will provide an opportunity for filmmakers to see the diverse locations and the lucrative incentives offered to film movies in the State of Mississippi.
